The former president of America Barack Obama turns 57 yesterday. A respected man that became the first African-American president of the U.S. to the joy and chagrin of many, none of whom can deny that his election was a historic moment, not only in America but the world over.
Over his tenure, Barack Obama had the ups and downs just like many presidents, but he had moments where he won the hearts of people across the world.
Scroll through to sample some of the awesome moments:
His response to the birther scandal
When Barack Obama was accused of being Kenyan instead of America, he had the best response.
His undying love for Michelle Obama
Barack Obama proved this by his sweet message to Michelle on their 25th anniversary in 2017.
His pride in his children
Barack Obama does not hide the fact that he loves and is proud of his children. He even said how hard it was for him to see Malia leave for college.
Bromance with Joe Biden
Not so many presidents have a good friendship with their deputies, but Barack Obama and Biden have been through it all. Their bromance has been a source of many jokes on social media. Barack Obama had Biden in tears when he awarded him America’s highest civilian honour, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
When South African President said Barack Obama cannot dance as well as Nelson Mandela, he disputed that and there are quite a number of videos that show Barack Obama dancing away. He recently showed his dancing moves in Kenya, when he was joined by his grandmother and sister.
His empathetic nature
Obama’s empathetic nature came out clearly when he shed a tear for the victims of gun violence.
The drop mic moment during his final speech
This one needs no explanation, except ‘Barack Obama Out’.
